Father Wiley Ammons is new Redeemer Rector
The Rev. B. Wiley Ammons joined Redeemer on March 14 as its new Rector, succeeding Fr. Mal Jopling who retired Oct. 1, 2015.
Fr. Wiley is a Jacksonville native and graduate of the University of Florida College of Engineering and Virginia Theological Seminary. Graduating seminary in 2011, he served three years for the Diocese of Florida as the Canon for Youth Ministry, Summer Camp Director for Camp Weed, and founding chaplain for the University of North Florida.
He came to Redeemer from Good Shepherd, Jacksonville, having served there as Deputy for Outreach Ministry. His wife Laura writes software requirements for PHH Mortgage. When not at church, Fr. Wiley is usually lost in a book, in a board game, or in flying a private plane in the skies above Jacksonville. They just welcomed their first child, Phereby, on Feb 5: 7 lb., 6 oz.!
